Destination Scarborough Culture & Cuisine Activation Program

Destination Scarborough’s Culture & Cuisine Activation Program (CCAP) is a pilot funding program supporting creative projects that bring together Scarborough’s artists, restaurants, businesses, and community organizations.

Through 11 projects taking place across Scarborough, CCAP is celebrating the neighbourhoods, cultures, food, and creative talent that make Scarborough unique. From festivals and food experiences to digital storytelling, walking tours, performances, and community showcases, each project offers a different way to connect with and experience Scarborough’s vibrant local culture and culinary scene.

Sundé Social presents: SS FEST by R.I.S.E. Edutainment | Sunday, August 30th, 2026

SS Fest, presented by Sundé Social in partnership with R.I.S.E. Edutainment and Hip Hop Healing, is an outdoor celebration of Black culture, creativity, and commerce in Scarborough’s Woburn neighbourhood, featuring six emerging performers alongside eight restaurants, food vendors, and culinary artists.

BITE by Bangladeshi-Canadian Community Services (BCS) | Saturday, November 28th, 2026

BITE showcases Scarborough’s diverse restaurants, local entrepreneurs, and creative talent through digital storytelling, a Scarborough Passport, and community engagement. The project culminates in a gallery walk and culinary showcase featuring Bangladeshi restaurants, local artwork, and performances.

Tara Na: Passport Experience by Philippine Chamber of Commerce Toronto | Tuesday, October 6th, 2026

The TARA NA! Passport Experience invites participants to discover Scarborough restaurants, enjoy local food, meet artists, and learn more about the cultures that make up the community. Participants collect stamps at participating restaurants for a chance to earn rewards.

Moon Festival Celebration by Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto | Tuesday, September 22nd, 2026

The Moon Festival Celebration is a free, one-day Mid-Autumn Festival, featuring traditional Chinese arts performances, interactive activities, and a community luncheon, a Mooncake Sharing Initiative, and live performances and event branding by Scarborough artists.

Scarborough Flavours and Fables: Roll-Play Edition by Theatre of the Beat | October 17th, 24th, and November 10th, 2026

Inspired by tabletop roleplaying games such as Dungeons & Dragons, Scarborough Flavours and Fables brings people of different ages and cultural backgrounds together for collaborative storytelling and shared meals. Local theatre artist Kay Wong leads an all-ages adventure hosted by local restaurants.

Scarborough South Asian Hidden Gems Showcase by Council of Agencies Serving South Asians (CASSA) | October 2026

The Scarborough South Asian Hidden Gems Showcase highlights local South Asian restaurants through digital storytelling focused on their food, cultural traditions, and stories. The project culminates in a showcase at Scarborough Civic Centre featuring food samples, cultural displays, and local businesses.

A Taste Of Comedy by East Toronto Arts Collective | November 20th-22nd, 2026

A Taste Of Comedy brings culturally themed comedy events to Scarborough restaurants, pairing local dining experiences with comedians whose cultural backgrounds connect with each restaurant’s cuisine. The events combine food, storytelling, and live performance.

Taste of Pakistan by Canada Pakistan Business Council | October, 2026

Taste of Pakistan is a web portal showcasing local Pakistani restaurants through original illustrations, food photography, and stories about each restaurant and its dishes. The project also features downloadable restaurant coupons and a community tasting event.

Taste of Resilience by Canadian Tamil Chamber of Commerce | October, 2026

Taste of Resilience is a short-film storytelling series profiling Tamil-owned restaurants across Scarborough. Created with local digital media artists, the 5–8 minute films explore each restaurateur’s journey, food, culture, and community.

Taste Scarborough: Stories from the Golden Mile by Working Women Centre | November 20th-22nd, 2026

Taste Scarborough is a Jane’s Walk-inspired food and storytelling experience exploring the Golden Mile through guided walking tours, oral histories, portrait photography, and community art. The project brings together local restaurants, artists, photographers, and residents.

Scarborough Flavours Along the Line by The Institute for Inclusive Economies and Sustainable Livelihoods (IIESL) | November, 2026

Scarborough Flavours Along the Line brings together local restaurants, artists, and residents through tastings, performances, photography, and hands-on art activities celebrating Scarborough’s food and culture. The project also explores ideas for the future of the former Scarborough RT corridor.

Destination Scarborough is a collaboration between Scarborough Arts and Eat More Scarborough, bringing together more than 50 years of combined experience in supporting local artists, food entrepreneurs, and community-led cultural experiences. Through Destination Scarborough, we’re working to amplify the richness, creativity, and unique energy of Scarborough’s neighbourhoods.
