Scarborough Arts Launches Destination Scarborough Activation Program to Spotlight Local Restaurants Through Arts, Culture and Cuisine
Scarborough, ON — Scarborough Arts is pleased to announce the launch of the Destination Scarborough Culture & Cuisine Activation Program (CCAP) 2026, a new partnership opportunity designed to showcase Scarborough’s local restaurants through creative arts and cultural initiatives.
Supported by funding from the City of Toronto, the program will provide up to 11 activation budgets of $10,000 to eligible Business Improvement Areas (BIAs), Chambers of Commerce, and not-for-profit organizations based in Scarborough to create innovative activations that celebrate Scarborough’s diverse culinary landscape.
Projects may include cultural events, public art installations, creative marketing campaigns, site beautification initiatives, and community engagement activities that encourage residents and visitors alike to discover and support local restaurants. By pairing food with arts and culture, the program aims to strengthen local businesses while highlighting the unique stories and neighbourhoods that make Scarborough one of Toronto’s most vibrant destinations.
As part of the program, a minimum of 20% of each project budget must directly engage an artist or creative professional, fostering new collaborations between the arts sector and local business communities. Scarborough Arts is also available to help partners connect with artists and creative practitioners during project development. Additional consultation and convening are supported by Eat More Scarborough.
Applications are now open, with proposals due by July 26, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Successful applicants will deliver their activations between August and December 2026, with completed projects featured through the Destination Scarborough platform.
